A Perfect Storm of Complexity

When Mammoet needed to relocate the world's 3rd largest crane from Northern Alberta to US Steel in Indiana, they faced a logistical nightmare. US Steel was relying on this crane to build Furnace #14 — any delay would have cascading financial impacts.

01

Extreme Time Constraints

Enzo Logistics was given just 3–5 days' notice to place a bid and mobilize full capacity for a 350-load operation.

02

Harsh Winter Conditions

The project commenced in the dead of winter in Fort McMurray, where temperatures regularly drop below −30°C, making loading and securing treacherous.

03

Massive Scale & Variety

350 total truckloads over 40 days, averaging 15–20 trucks per day — cargo ranging from standard legal dimensions to extreme heavy haul.

04

Unprecedented Market Disruption

Midway through the project, a global conflict erupted, causing an immediate spike in fuel prices and a severe shortage of market capacity.

Proactive Operations & Unwavering Commitment

We are an operations company, not a sales floor. We didn't just broker trucks — we managed the entire supply chain ecosystem for this project.
1

Onsite Leadership & Presence

Sep Shahrokhi, CEO of Enzo Logistics, was personally onsite for the critical first two weeks to ensure a smooth launch and establish the operational rhythm. Carlos, our dedicated onsite supervisor, remained in Fort McMurray for the duration of the project and was flown to Gary, Indiana to supervise delivery of the final shipments — ensuring every truck was loaded correctly, secured safely, and dispatched on time.

2

Total Transparency & Live Tracking

We implemented a live, shared tracking sheet with the client, giving Mammoet and US Steel real-time data on every single driver, truck, and load — complete, transparent access 24/7.

3

Strategic Capacity Allocation

Despite a sudden shortage of market capacity and skyrocketing fuel costs, we honored our commitments — leveraging deep relationships with specialized heavy haul carrier partners and absorbing market volatility to keep our client's supply chain uninterrupted.

4

Collaborative Planning

We held regular meetings with the client to discuss loading sequences, route optimization, and contingency plans — understanding the project as intimately as the engineers building the furnace.

Delivered On Time, Against All Odds

Despite a 40-day timeline, 350 complex loads, extreme winter weather, a global fuel crisis, and capacity shortages, Enzo Logistics delivered. The PTC crane components arrived safely at US Steel in Gary, Indiana, allowing construction of Furnace #14 to proceed without delay.
